The train: NJ Transit via Secaucus Junction
For events with large crowds (NFL games and major concerts), NJ Transit runs the Meadowlands Rail Service directly to the stadium. The route from Manhattan:
- Take an NJ Transit train from New York Penn Station to Secaucus Junction.
- Transfer to the Meadowlands Rail line, which runs to the Sports Complex station at the stadium. The ride from Secaucus to the stadium is about 10 minutes.
Meadowlands trains start running a few hours before kickoff and continue for a couple of hours after the game ends, so you're covered both ways. The station sits right at the stadium — exit through the MetLife or Verizon gates to reach it on the way out. Buy tickets through the NJ Transit mobile app before you travel.
Note: the dedicated Meadowlands service runs for high-attendance events. For smaller events, check NJ Transit for the current options before you set out.
The bus: Coach USA 351 from Port Authority
The simplest one-seat ride from Midtown is the 351 Meadowlands Express, run by Coach USA from the Port Authority Bus Terminal (42nd Street) directly to the MetLife sports complex for NFL games and other large events.
- Service starts about 2½ hours before the game and runs until roughly half an hour after kickoff, then again for about an hour after the game ends.
- Drop-off and pick-up are in Lot K, reached via the MetLife gate.
- Confirm times at the operator's 351 Express service before game day.
Rideshare and taxi
Rideshare works, but set expectations: there's no official dedicated pickup zone at the stadium, and post-game surge pricing plus heavy traffic out of the complex can make it slow and expensive. If you go this route, walk a few minutes away from the gates before requesting a pickup to avoid the worst of the crush.
Driving
If you drive, the stadium has large event parking lots, and tailgating in the lots is part of NFL game day. Expect slow exits after the game — everyone leaves at once. Pre-booking a parking space is wise for big games.
The honest recommendation
- For an NFL game: the 351 bus from Port Authority is the easiest single ride from Midtown, and the Meadowlands train via Secaucus is the fastest once you're moving. Either beats driving unless you specifically want to tailgate.
- Give yourself a buffer. Between the transfer and the crowds, build in more time than the raw travel distance suggests — arriving early also lets you take in the pre-game atmosphere.
Plan the rest
Once your transport is sorted, find a date on the Giants tickets page to match a game to your trip. If you'd rather not deal with public transport at all, a private transfer is an option for door-to-door travel, though it's priced as a premium convenience rather than a budget pick.
