Where NYCFC plays

For now, NYCFC plays its home games at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx — the same ballpark as the Yankees, reconfigured for soccer. It's easy to reach by subway, with its own station right outside.

The bigger news: the club is building Etihad Park, a dedicated, purpose-built soccer stadium in Willets Point, Queens. It's under construction rather than open, so until it goes live, plan around Yankee Stadium. If you're visiting further out, check where the club is playing when your dates land, as some matches can be staged at other venues.

How to buy

Soccer tickets are among the most accessible in the city:

  • Prices are friendly, especially for non-marquee opponents and midweek matches.
  • Inventory is usually healthy, so you don't need to book far ahead unless it's a derby or a marquee fixture.
  • Start from the schedule. Browse the NYCFC tickets page to see which home matches fall during your trip. Tickets are digital and shown on your phone at the gate.

What an MLS night looks like

An NYCFC match has a different feel from American stadium sports — closer to a European football atmosphere:

  • Supporters' sections bring drums, chants, and constant singing. Sit near them for the loudest experience, or away from them for a calmer view.
  • The crowd is international, which fits a visiting traveler well — you won't feel out of place.
  • Two 45-minute halves with a short break, and the action rarely stops, so settle in once it starts.
  • It's outdoors and seasonal — warm and pleasant for most of the season, so dress for the evening weather.

Where to sit

Think in terms of atmosphere as much as price. The supporters' end is the most electric (and often affordable); midfield sideline seats give the best tactical view of the match; seats behind the goals are cheaper and put you close to the action at one end. For a first match, a sideline seat at a comfortable height lets you read the whole pitch.
